Artistry formed the basis for the Beatles' animated film of the same name that premiered in London in July 1968. A must for any Beatles fan and collector!
The Beatles' tenth studio album, Yellow Submarine, was released on January 13, 1969, in the United States and on January 17, 1969, in the United Kingdom. It provided the soundtrack for the animated film as well. The album contains six songs by the Beatles, including four new songs and the previously released "Yellow Submarine" and "All You Need Is Love." The film received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, in contrast to some of the Beatles' previous film ventures. It has also been credited with bringing more interest in animation as a serious art form. Time commented that it "turned into a smash hit, delighting adolescents and aesthetes alike".
