The Selected Writings of Elbert Hubbard, one of the leading figures in the Arts & Crafts movement in the United States, and founder of the famed Roycrofters in East Aurora, NY. This deluxe set was compiled and published posthumously by his son at Hubbard's famous Roycrofters Press and Wm. A. Wise in 1928. It is a special Memorial Edition, as Hubbard and his second wife, Alice Moore Hubbard, died aboard the RMS Lusitania when it was sunk by a German submarine off the coast of Ireland on May 7 1915. This is a spectacular set and extremely rare, especially complete and in this condition. Fine in beautifully embossed dark brown leather with a tree design on the face in shades of green and orange. Gilt lettering on the cover ands spine, top edge gilt. Tipped in photos of Hubbard in each volumes, with an additional color plate of Roycrofters in Vol. 1.
