First Edition, Second State. This is one of the earliest printings, with the hyphen at the end of the last line on p. 21 and the word "two" on p. 252 present and not damaged, yet color plates glossy on both sides.
The 20th Oz book and the 6th written by Ruth Thompson. Near fine in publisher's original dark green cloth, color pictorial cover pastedown on the front board. Titles and decorations to spine in black, all edges stained yellow, with illustrated endpapers. Lacking the very scarce dust jacket. Complete with 12 full page color plates, including the wonderful frontispiece, and profusely illustrated with black and white illustrations throughout.
Extremities a touch rubbed, very slight wear to spine ends and joints a bit tender. Internally near fine, with very small circular stains to the title, copyright and dedication pages. Octavo. 261 pp, plus 1 page of ads and 1 page listing of the 19 Oz books published to through 1926. A great copy of this fun-filled title.
