First Edition, First Printing (stated first edition by Crowell-Collier Press, 1965). An enchanting story by poet Robert Graves of a mischievous little boy names Jack who, after finding a big green book in his uncle's attic, learns a number of handy magic spells that launches a fun-filled adventure for Jack and his family. Graves' first children's book. Part of a then well-known series of books for children featuring renowned artists, this being the only title illustrated by Sendak. First printings from 1962 are quite scarce. A wonderful copy of this vintage classic!
