First Edition, First Printing. A fantastic children's tale by the renowned author, James Thurber. First issue with illustrator Marc Simont's first name spelled "Mark" on the title page. Fine in a very good plus dust jacket, with small chips on the top and tail of the spine and closed tear on front top edge of the jacket; otherwise a very bright with no fading. Includes wonderful illustrations by Marc Simont. Signed by Simont on the title page, and including a letter from Simont to a fan discussing his collaboration with Thurber. Octavo.124 pp. A beautiful copy, one of the best we've seen.
