Commentaries on the Laws of England by William Blackstone. Sought after Tenth Edition. A very nice, handsome set of Blackstone's magnum opus and definitive work on English common law. A complete set in four volumes. This edition includes final corrections by Sir William Blackstone before his death.

Very good plus for the age in full reverse calf (suede), ruled and ornamented in blind on covers; gilt titles and ornaments on spine over crimson and black spine labels. Some edgewear, especially to head and foot of spines, with some exposed headbands; corners a little rubbed. Bindings sound and tight. Hardcover. Previous owner's bookplates on front pastedown, with the motto, "in labore quies." Bindings sound and tight.. Octavos. 14.5 x 22 cm. 485; 520, xix; 455, xxvii; 443, vii pp. + index. Vol. II includes fold-out 'Table of Descents' (family tree) of John Stiles. Overall, a fantastic original set of Blackstone's magnum opus and definitive work on English common law.
